Nomura Layoffs Job Cut: layoff 1000 London employees

Another financial giant, Nomura has decided to go for a layoffs or job cut. Its the same Nomura which has bought over the Asian assets of the bankrupt Lehman Brothers and now it has decided to go for a massive lay offs in London.

Nomura is a Japanese giant in brokerage services. Due to the current global market turmoil, it has been severly hit as did the other financial institutes. There are reports of , JP MOrgan WaMu Layoffs, Lehman Brothers Bankruptcy, Citibank Layoffs, UBS layoffs , GS Layoffs and many more. The layoffs will also give way for an internal review of Nomura's equities and investment banking works.

How are the Nomura employees scattered as per the geographical locations?
Of the 8,000 former Lehman employees that Nomura added to its global payroll, about 2,650 are based in Europe and the Middle East.
Nomura currently employs about 4,500 people in London, and the cuts will not be limited to former Lehman staff, said Nomura spokesman Tohru Namikawa.
