InBev Anheuser-Busch Lay off Job Cut: fires 1400 employees

As per the news, Anheuser-Busch is learnt to go for a massive layoffs or job cuts. The famous company is in the business of making alcholic beverages and products, and since the entire global markets and businesses are suffering from the downturn, this company also seeems to be affected.

This company has the famous brand called Budweiser. It was also the company which was acquired by InBev for a record USD 52 billion few days back and these layoffs seem to be the part of this acquisition.

There will be layoffs of 14000 employees. This will be around 6% of the total headcount of US workforce. Other than that, the new 250 open positions will continue to remain open.

Around 75% of the jobcutss will happen at corporate headquarters in St. Louis.

Most of the reductions will occur before 2009.

As per the news, the company said the reductions are in addition to the more than 1,000 U.S. salaried employees who took buyouts in a program that ended Nov. 14.

The program was part of a $1 billion cost reduction plan announced in June. At that time, Anheuser-Busch said it planned to cut its U.S. full-time salaried workforce to 10 to 15% by the year's end.

When InBev announced in July it would take over Anheuser-Busch, the company said it planned to save at least $1.5 billion annually
