Intel Layoffs Job Cut: may layoff employees

As per the news, Intel may be gooing for a massive layoffs or job cuts in the coming few months. The market experts predict this because of the deteriorating market conditions, dipping sales of Intel processors and worst economic outlook.


Though there are no confirm news from the company side, but these are market predictions by the market analyst which, given the market situation, seems to be quite possible.

Intel Corporation could be preparing to lay off as much as 10 percent of its work force.

What have been the financial results of Intel recently?
It is predicted that Intel may have to cut down on its fourth-quarter guidance for the second time, because the economic crisis has caused computer makers to sharply curtail the amount of processors they buy for those machines.

Friedman, Billings, Ramsey & Co. analyst Craig Berger wrote in a note to clients that "recent industry checks" suggest that Santa Clara, Calif.-based Intel is preparing a large work force reduction that could be as high as 8,300 employees, or 10 percent of its global staff.

ANy previous record of Intel Layoffs?
Yes. Intel did a layoff in 2006, when about 10500 jobs were cut as smaller rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc. was stealing market share and cutting deeply into Intel's profits in a bruising price war.

How much money can be saved from this Intel Layoffs?
Berger said Intel could save $1 billion a year from a new restructuring and by reducing or eliminating some raises and bonuses because of the company's performance.
