Metorex Layoffs Job Cut: layoff 350 employees

Few days back, there were news items about South Africa based Simmers & Jack Mines Lay off which fired 500 employees and now another mining firm from South Africa called Metorex has decided to go for a layoffs or job cut.

How many employees will be affected in the Metorex Layoffs Job Cut?
There is no information available about how many employees will be laid off. Though the news is that Metorix is planning to lay off around 400 workers.

How many employees are presently employed by Metorex?
There are 1500 workers currently employed with Metorex.

What are the reasons for the Metorex Layoffs Job Cut
Same old reasons, decline in demand, cut costs, global economic meltdown, financial crisis and so on.
"Due to the international decline in demand for antimony and the decrease in antimony prices from approximately $6,500 to $5,000 per tonne, management has initiated a review of the cost profile of Cons Murch," it said in a statement, adding 50 percent of its costs were labour related.
